Keep your hand out of it.
Shucking by hand means gripping a slippery shell and hoping the knife doesn't slip. The clamp holds the oyster for you, so the blade goes into the shell — not toward your palm. Steadier, calmer, and a lot less nerve-wracking.
Any oyster, open in seconds.
No technique to learn, no wrist strength, no YouTube tutorials. Brace it, drop the oyster in, shuck. Most people have it down by their very first one.
Bring the raw bar with you.
This was never really about a tool. It's about turning an ordinary moment into an occasion — oysters on the terrace, at the counter, on a boat, with the people you love. No white tablecloth required. You bring the raw bar; the moment takes care of the rest.

FROM A COOK LOVER TO A COOK LOVER
A message from the founder:
Hey cook lovers!
As a chef, proudly to say 20 years of that being a Michelin star chef, i’ve spent years working with the finest ingredients—and oysters have always held a special place in my kitchen. But I noticed something: friends, guests, and even fellow cooks often struggled with shucking them. I’d get asked all the time for tips, tricks, or the “secret” to doing it safely and cleanly.
That’s what sparked the idea for the Oysterclamp.
I wanted to create a simple, effective tool that takes the intimidation out of oyster shucking—something that gives you control, protects your hands, and lets you focus on the pleasure of the experience. The Oysterclamp was born from that desire to make professional-level technique accessible at home.
I hope it earns a place in your kitchen, just like it has in mine.

Why would I need this?
Why would I need this?
You might not — until the knife slips. The experienced shuckers actually have the worst injuries because they get comfortable. A towel holds the oyster, but it doesn't stop the knife when it pushes through. The OysterClamp keeps your hands completely away from the blade. Same technique, same knife — the oyster just finally stays put.
Does it work for left-handed shuckers?
Does it work for left-handed shuckers?
The current design is optimized for right-handed use. Left-handed shuckers can still use it by placing the oysterclamp against the left side of the cutting board or just right against the counter top.
How do I clean it?
How do I clean it?
Simply rinse with warm water after use and let it air dry. The hardwood is naturally resistant to moisture. Do not put it in the dishwasher or submerge it for extended periods. A quick rinse and dry after each use will keep it in perfect condition for years.
I have arthritis / weak grip strength. Can I still use this?
I have arthritis / weak grip strength. Can I still use this?
Yes, this would totally work for you. The whole point of the OysterClamp is that it does the holding — your hands don't have to grip, squeeze, or absorb impact. You just place the oyster in, let the clamp lock it, and use your knife normally. Many of our customers bought this specifically because their hands aren't as strong as they used to be.
