As a chef, proudly to say 20 years of that being a Michelin star chef, i’ve spent years working with the finest ingredients—and oysters have always held a special place in my kitchen. But I noticed something: friends, guests, and even fellow cooks often struggled with shucking them. I’d get asked all the time for tips, tricks, or the “secret” to doing it safely and cleanly.
That’s what sparked the idea for the Oysterclamp.
I wanted to create a simple, effective tool that takes the intimidation out of oyster shucking—something that gives you control, protects your hands, and lets you focus on the pleasure of the experience. The Oysterclamp was born from that desire to make professional-level technique accessible at home.

You might not — until the knife slips. The experienced shuckers actually have the worst injuries because they get comfortable. A towel holds the oyster, but it doesn't stop the knife when it pushes through. The OysterClamp keeps your hands completely away from the blade. Same technique, same knife — the oyster just finally stays put.

The current design is optimized for right-handed use. Left-handed shuckers can still use it by placing the oysterclamp against the left side of the cutting board or just right against the counter top.

Simply rinse with warm water after use and let it air dry. The hardwood is naturally resistant to moisture. Do not put it in the dishwasher or submerge it for extended periods. A quick rinse and dry after each use will keep it in perfect condition for years.

Yes, this would totally work for you. The whole point of the OysterClamp is that it does the holding — your hands don't have to grip, squeeze, or absorb impact. You just place the oyster in, let the clamp lock it, and use your knife normally. Many of our customers bought this specifically because their hands aren't as strong as they used to be.

Stabbed myself fairly badly on Christmas Eve as I was shucking 3 dozen oysters. Luckily I was using a blunter oyster knife ( pictured in your ads as a starter knife that I’ve had for years instead of your sharper knife. The oysters hinge was very high up Canadian black point oysters. However I did manage to finish the job with a towel wrapped around the wound. And your sharper knife

I finally bought some fresh oysters this week. Although I planned or bbq'ing them, I held one back to test my new oyster clamp. It worked great! Soooo safe. 1st time I've not stabbed myself multiple times. Even with a steel mesh glove I would hurt myself. No blood but I'm not sure those sweet little gems were worth the pain. We never had oysters at the house because I had no idea how to open them and, as a guitar player, didn't want to risk injury if the knife (even a dull oyster knife) slipped. Then I saw "The Clamp", ordered it and the chain mail glove and when they came in, we went out and bought 2 dozen oysters and were in heaven because this clamp works. The chain mail glove adds even more "confidence" that you're not going to hurt yourself. Oysters are back on the menu and we couldn't be happier.

The product is constructed well and works well. The only suggestion I have is perhaps an enhancement that allows the unit to be secured to the counter surface. Overall love it and works well.

I waited about 10 months for my original order! I had forgotten where I ordered, but when I found my order, these people were very helpful and quick to respond. Today was the day I finally got to try one. They ask to send a photo or video of their product in use. Who can stop eating oysters to do that? I bought a variety of large and small oysters and was concerned about the large ones fitting. It held all shapes and sizes. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone loving oysters.
